Privacy Policy

Last updated October 18, 2026

The short version: We collect only what we need to ship your filters and bill your subscription. We don't sell your information, we don't use advertising trackers, and our website doesn't use cookies. Payments are handled by Stripe, so we never see or store your full card number.

The Freedom Filter is a veteran-owned business operated by The Freedom Filter LLC, a Kentucky limited liability company based in Northern Kentucky (Greater Cincinnati area). In these policies, "The Freedom Filter," "we," "us," and "our" mean The Freedom Filter LLC, and "you" means the customer. Questions about privacy? Email thefreedomfilterllc@gmail.com.

What we collect

  • Contact and shipping details: your name, email address, and shipping address.
  • Order details: your filter size, plan (Standard or Premium), pack size, delivery schedule, any donation add-on on an older plan, order and shipment dates, and what you've paid.
  • Payment details: collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe. Stripe may also collect a billing address and phone number. We can see limited details, like the card brand and last four digits, but never your full card number.
  • Messages: anything you send us by email, like a request to skip a delivery.
  • Website visits: see "Our visitor counter" below.

How we use it

  • To process your order, ship your filters, and handle renewals, skips, cancellations, returns, and refunds.
  • To send emails about your order, like receipts, shipping updates, renewal reminders, and important changes to your subscription.
  • To answer your questions and keep basic business, tax, and accounting records.
  • To see roughly how many people visit the site, so we can improve it.

We don't sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.

Our visitor counter

We run our own simple visitor counter instead of third-party analytics. It records the page you viewed, the time, the website that sent you (if any), and whether you're on a phone or a computer. To count unique visitors without storing your IP address, it saves a scrambled code made from your IP address and browser type, mixed with a random value that changes every day. That code can't be turned back into your IP address, and it can't follow you from one day to the next. The counter sets no cookies, and the data stays on our own server.

Cookies

The Freedom Filter website doesn't set cookies. When you check out or manage your subscription, you're taken to pages hosted by Stripe, which uses its own cookies to process payments securely and prevent fraud. See Stripe's privacy policy.

Who we share it with

We share information only with the service providers we need to run the business, and only for that purpose:

  • Stripe for payments, subscriptions, receipts, and the customer portal.
  • USPS (and any shipping-label service we use) to deliver your filters.
  • Railway, our website host, which stores order and shipping records on our server.
  • Google (Gmail), our email provider, when you email us.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our rights or prevent fraud, or if the business is sold or transferred (in which case this policy continues to apply to your information).

How long we keep it

We keep your information while you're a customer and afterward as long as we need it for tax, accounting, and legal records, generally up to 7 years. Visitor counter records contain no personal details, and we may keep them indefinitely.

Your choices and rights

  • Update your shipping address or card anytime in the customer portal (the Manage my plan page), or email us.
  • Ask us to see, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing thefreedomfilterllc@gmail.com. We'll respond within 45 days. We may need to keep some records, like past orders and payments, for legal or tax reasons.
  • You can opt out of optional emails, like delivery reminders, at any time. We'll still send emails about your orders and subscription, such as receipts and notices of changes.

Security

Our site uses encryption (HTTPS), our order records are kept on a password-protected server, and card payments are handled by Stripe, a PCI-certified payment processor. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will let you know if a breach affects you, as the law requires.

Children

Our service is for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If the changes are significant, we'll also email current customers.
